  • CL&TForum - Improving Student Achievement at City: Understanding ethnicity-related attainment gaps

    City Learning & Teaching Forum | Thursday 7th March | 2pm | Convocation Suite

    Workshop:

This City Learning & Teaching Forum will focus on the topic of Improving Student Achievement at City, with a particular focus on ethnicity-based attainment gaps, and differential outcomes for equality groups. City is engaging with an external project in the sector, and undertaking considerable work internally, to understand our attainment gaps and look to support staff and students to enhance student achievement.

Beginning with a reflective quiz and a summary of City’s work so far, the session will explore work being undertaken already at City, and within the higher education sector. Participants will be asked to work together to review case studies and impact studies, in the hope of identifying good practice that we might look to take forward at City. Participants are asked to reflect on their own practice, and be prepared to share examples of good work with other attendees.

Led by the Student Experience and Engagement Department, we hope that this Forum will provide practical advice and guidance, an opportunity for staff to reflect on their practice, and that it will help City to think about its approach to this work in a structured way as we move forward.
